The story behind Jeremy Tinder

Some pen names are marketing. This one is a promise.

Jeremy Tinder writes adventure stories for families. The Everhart Family Adventures series was inspired by a real family trip to the Philippines, a real mystery, and two daughters who proved that the best explorers always bring snacks.

Behind the name is a dad — an IT professional and outdoorsman married to a Filipina wife, raising two girls who are, chapter for chapter, the real Emily and Camryn. The family trips are real. The heritage is real. The girls’ personalities — one who charges in headfirst, one who notices everything — are very, very real.

The name on the cover belongs to the author’s older brother, Jeremy, who passed away at thirty-three — before he could meet his nieces. Jeremy was born with cerebral palsy and never let the wheelchair define him; he was known instead for his unshakeable faith and his gift for sharing it with anyone who would listen. Writing under his name means Uncle Jeremy is still part of the story — on every cover, in every adventure, in the hands of every kid who picks one up.

The girls learned who the series was really named for in the final book’s A Note from Dad. Now you know too.
